The Project

Visit San Antonio had no mobile presence. Visitors planning trips or exploring the city in real time had no official app to turn to. I identified a vendor solution through a Simpleview partnership, made the case internally, secured executive approval, and managed the launch from brand guidelines to go-live.

 

It was the organization's first-ever mobile app.

What It Does

 

The app serves visitors at every stage of their trip, from pre-arrival planning to real-time exploration.

  • Location-aware listings that surface nearby restaurants, attractions, and experiences based on where you are

  • Full directory of things to do, dining, events, stays, and offers

  • AI-powered trip planning that builds custom itineraries based on travel dates, group type, and interests

  • In-app visitor's guide and chat support

  • Map view showing all listings relative to your current location

 

The app feeds directly from the Simpleview CRM, keeping listings current without manual updates.

Within the first six months of launch:

  • 16,000+ downloads

  • 763,000+ business listing pageviews

  • 4.9-star user rating
